While completing my Beauty pie skin care challenge, I used some additional products during that period and shortly after and wanted to post my reviews on those as well.
So here goes....
Ren overnight recovery balm - Only had samples of this and been trying to use for 2 months now. Still finished one sample yet.
That should reflect my feelings about this product. This balm feels heavy, greasy and cloggy for an overnight balm.
This was supposed to hydrate, moisturise and lead to a comfortable night sleep. Nope! At the times when I have used it, does nothing or rather the opposite of what it should have done. This is a heck no!
Boots Ingredients - Tried 3 products from this brand. The Bakuchiol serum, Hyaluronic acid serum and the Niacinamide serum (not pictured).
Used the Hyaluronic acid for hydration, moisture and brightness. This worked well and would equate it as being on the same level as The ordinary. Goes for £5.
Bakuchiol - This is a plant based alternative to retinol. Promotes radiant and healthy looking skin. Goes for £7 at boots. Find this easier to use than retinol.
However, does not really work for me. Almost used a bottle and no difference. Would rather stick to retinol.
Niacinamide - I use this to make my skin less oily (T-Zone) and for clearer skin. Goes for £5. Worth the value. however, personal preference is getting from inkey list or even the ordinary.
Herbivore Lapis Facial oil - Boy! Do I hate this oil and my hate majorly stems from the purpose of it, to smell and the feel.
Every time, I put this on, must wash hands right after.
Now to the smell, freshly mowed grass, coupled with peppermint oil, left under the hot sun to infuse. No. Just No!
Also does not absorb, just sits on top of my skin. For something that is supposed to soothe, hydrate, dry skin yet recommended for combination and oily skin, this is just a bag of confusion.
Never again!
Sunday Riley - good genes lactic acid treatment - this was supposed to exfoliate the dull surface of skin, promote radiance, remove dullness, remove fine lines, dark spots and wrinkles in 3 minutes.
Tall order for a serum. Indeed it needed a ladder to get to the top of those expectations.
Well, in this case, the ladder was too short.
Did freaking nothing. A treatment costing USD122 for a 50ml bottle, was expecting a lot. Where can I demand a refund for this?
In conclusion, was mostly disappointed but hey....that is the way the cookie crumbles. Upwards we go.....
